PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP 2012 - GEMANAFUSHI SCHOOL
Year 2012 was a bright year for Gemanafushi School. We held a very successful and a effective workshop on Child Friendly Baraabaru School Quality Indicators on the first PD day. It was conducted in collaboration with Ga.Kanduhulhadhoo School and Our School with utmost support and co-operation from Ga. Teacher Resource Center, Villingili. More than 50 academic staffs participated in this workshop which includes principals, leading teachers and teachers both trained and untrained. The trainers were highly qualified Teacher Educators from Center for Continuing Education (CCE) namely Ms.Adhila Rushdhy from Ga.TRC and Ms. Fathimath Wardha from Lh.TRC.
The workshop continued for two consecutive days in which 13 active hours were conducted activity based. Our teachers gained a clear picture of CFBS Baraabaru School Quality Indicators and how to evaluate ourselves where are we, in terms of Emerging, Progressing, Achieving, and Achieved. We also learnt the importance of parent and community involvement in school self evaluation.
The trainers covered the complete process of self evaluation. Realistic activities were conducted for Pre-evaluation, Onsite evaluation, Post evaluation and making judgments. All the groups actively participated and showed a high interest in doing the above mentioned activities. We also learnt how to make action plans for the future smooth and successful running of our school as a social-educational organization.
Our school teachers offered a good hospitality to the participants who came from other islands at their own expense. It was really a thankful service rendered by our teachers.
